Hi, I'm Richard Small, a London-based graphic designer with seven years professional experience. I'm currently employed by Sony as a Communication Designer, having joined their European design team in 2008. I am experienced in creative art direction for clients large and small, specialising in brand, communication, retail and typographic design.

I am a focused designer with a broad range of skills and am able to work from conception to completion on a variety of different projects. I listen, digest and quickly deliver successful creative design and am comfortable communicating with colleagues, management and clients in a clear and articulate manner.

Following an internship at a small design and print company in Gloucestershire after leaving school, my studies took me to the University of Reading where I gained a degree from the Department of Typography & Graphic Communication. My time there gave me a great appreciation for the importance of typography in design and set me up for my work in branding and communications. The course introduced me to the history of design and ignited a passion for detailed design, print production, brand communication and letterpress printing - I can often be found 'slow printing' and covered in ink in my spare time.
